Tools · AgriMarketing eligibility
Will AgriMarketing pay for legal advice and trademarks?
Yes. Legal advice on a distribution agreement and trademark protection in the target market are both named.
Both appear in the activities the Market Diversification stream funds, and both fall under contracted services, which is a named cost category and one of the two the program is weighted toward.
This is among the least-claimed items on the list, because companies treat legal fees as overhead rather than as a project cost. A distribution agreement reviewed by somebody who knows the destination is a project deliverable, and trademark protection in a market you are about to enter is the cheapest insurance available against discovering somebody else registered your name there first.

Most guidance starts with finding a buyer. That is the step most likely to be undone by the ones nobody mentioned, because a buyer commits you to a timeline before you know whether the market is open to your product at all.

This does not answer CanExport
CanExport SMEs is the other federal program exporters ask about, and it is not covered here. Its rules live on a Government of Canada host that refuses requests from our infrastructure.
Every answer we gave would come from memory rather than from a page we opened and dated.
That is a worse outcome than an absence.
A funding answer is acted on by somebody about to commit money, and the two programs differ on cost share, on who is eligible and on what counts as a fundable activity.
We would rather tell you the gap exists.
