Sunflower Oil: export from Canada to ASEAN
Sunflower oil is specified like other refined vegetable oils (colour, free fatty acid, peroxide value, flavour) with one variable that matters more than the rest in a tropical supply chain: oleic content.
High-oleic sunflower has markedly better oxidative stability than conventional, which translates directly into fry life and shelf life. For a buyer supplying a frying operation or a product with a long ambient shelf life in a warm market, the high-oleic premium usually pays for itself. For a buyer using it cold and turning stock quickly, it may not.
Ask about it explicitly. It is the single question that most changes value on this product and is frequently omitted from enquiries.
Format follows the same logic as other oils: flexitank, ISO tank, IBC and retail packs carry different minimums and different destination handling requirements.
Crude and refined sunflower oil classify separately, and high-oleic varieties are not always distinguished in the schedule even though they are commercially distinct. Confirm the line for the exact specification you are contracting.
