Oat Fibre: export from Canada to ASEAN
Oat fibre is bought for two things at once: functional water binding and yield in the finished product, and a fibre content claim on the label. Both have to work, and a fibre that delivers the claim but degrades texture is a failed ingredient.
Particle size is the parameter that governs mouthfeel, and it is where rejections concentrate: a fibre that performs analytically can be refused on grittiness. Specify the mesh and sample in your own matrix.
Beyond that, specify total dietary fibre, water-holding capacity, colour and flavour neutrality.
Canada's oat crop feeds the processing directly, giving a documented supply chain. Confirm that any fibre claim you intend to make is permitted in the destination and calculated the way that market requires, because the calculation method differs and a claim valid in Canada can be unsupportable elsewhere on the same analysis.
Dietary fibres may classify as food preparations rather than under a cereal line, depending on processing. Confirm the position for the exact product, and separately confirm that the fibre claim is permitted and calculated the destination's way.
