Butter: export from Canada to ASEAN
Butter is specified on fat content, salted or unsalted, and moisture. Unsalted is the manufacturing default; salted serves retail and foodservice and carries its own salt-level specification.
The operational reality for tropical destinations is that butter is a demanding cold-chain product with a real risk of textural damage and oxidation in transit. For manufacturing buyers, anhydrous milk fat is frequently the better answer to the same requirement: it ships and stores far more easily and reconstitutes predictably.
Where butter itself is required, specify fat, salt level, packaging format and the storage temperature the product has been validated at.
Canadian supply management shapes export availability, so volume is committed rather than open-ended. Cultured and sweet cream butter are different products in flavour and should be stated rather than assumed.
Butter classifies separately from anhydrous milk fat and from other dairy fats, and dairy lines frequently carry quota arrangements. Confirm the position for the exact product before choosing between butter and AMF on logistics grounds alone.
