Raspberries: export from Canada to ASEAN

Raspberries are sold in grades that reflect fruit integrity, and the grade gap is wide in both price and application. IQF whole fruit commands the premium for visible presentation; crumble and broken grades serve bakery and manufacturing at materially lower cost; puree serves beverage and dairy.

Buyers who specify only raspberries frequently receive and pay for a higher grade than their application needs. State the grade explicitly: a bakery filling rarely needs whole fruit integrity.

Specification points are grade, brix, colour, defect and foreign-material tolerance, and for puree the seed content and pasteurisation.

Raspberries are fragile and the cold chain matters more for them than for firmer berries; partial thaw shows immediately as collapse and syrup formation. Confirm destination handling before shipping. British Columbia is the principal Canadian producing region.

As with other frozen berries, added-sugar status commonly splits the line, and puree classifies separately from whole fruit. Confirm the position for the exact grade and format you are contracting.
